Hello –

We are quite proud and very excited to share the news for the fourth annual CONNOR BARWIN – MAKE THE WORLD BETTER charity concert, Thursday September 21st with Philadelphia’s own THE WAR ON DRUGS!

In the past three years the MTWB concerts at Union Transfer have raised close to $750,000 for parks and recreation centers in some of the most troubled areas of Philadelphia. They have been without a doubt the most positive and heartwarming shows on our calendar each summer.

This year will be no different. We have moved on up to a bigger and more exciting outdoor venue – THE DELL MUSIC CENTER (as pictured below). The City of Philadelphia has operated the Robin Hood Dell East as a signature outdoor theater since 1930. Located in Fairmount Park just across the river from The Mann Music Center – next to the Schuylkill River and Boathouse Row,  the Dell Music Center is an open-air amphitheater which has showcased hundreds of artists and performers in it’s 87 year history. The City of Philadelphia recently spent $7 million on renovations to the Dell including new seating, a reconstructed parking lot and a renovated stage area.

We have been working on making a show happen here for quite some time and we could not ask for a better set of circumstances for our first show : Our old hometown friends kicking off their big national tour, under the stars in historic Fairmont Park on the very last night of summer. Philadelphia doesn’t have too many outdoor venues, so we hope you take advantage of this special evening we have planned.

Just like the previous benefits, one hundred percent of the ticket sales will go to Connor Barwin’s MAKE THE WORLD BETTER charity. So by simply purchasing a ticket to see WAR ON DRUGS, you’ll be directly responsible for transforming a community park for children in Philadelphia. It’s a win-win.

We’ll have lots more details to share with you over the next five months. Tickets will go on-sale online next Friday May 5th at 10am. We’ll have a special pre-sale opportunity to share with you on Thursday (May 4th) to give you the first chance at tickets. Keep an eye out for that e-mail next week.

September 21 can’t come soon enough!

Hope to see you there!
