Hi. We normally do not send out dedicated e-mails about one show but we are going to make the rare exception here. We are thrilled and beyond excited to announce that one of our all time favorite bands will reunite and play a rare live show at Union Transfer this spring.
For those who do not know, Slint hailed from Louisville. They were a bunch of teenage punk kids who out of nowhere wrote an absolutely seminal classic album, Spiderland. Without this band, most of the bands you love wouldn’t even exist. We wouldnt exist. Seriously. This band was the tipping point for us to get into “weirder” music in the mid 90s. Spiderland sounds as good and as relevant, and as darkly haunting, emotionally devastating and sonically stunning today, as it did when it first came out more than 20 years ago.
If you are unfamiliar do yourself a favor and check out the below trailer (from the documentary which will be released as part of their upcoming box set) and then immediately get to listening Spiderland (its on Spotify, YouTube and all the the things the kids use to listen to music today)
This show/band is one not to miss. Seriously. If it wasn’t for this band, R5 Productions would not exist today.
Tickets go on-sale this Friday. Hope to see you there.
